Do You want to be an Artist?
Would you like to participate in a public Art project?
I am Ralph Wamsher, a local nature photographer. I am producing an art project and want everyone in Watertown to participate.
The project is a photographic exhibit called Weekend in Watertown. The photos will be of life in Watertown over a selected long weekend. June 2 through June 5. I am not the photographer. You, the public, will be the photographer. I will be putting the exhibit together. The photos will be printed as a collage on 3’ x 5 foot metal panels suitable for in- door or outdoor exhibit. The exhibit will travel around public places in Watertown such as the Library, senior citizens, city hall and other spots. Hopefully the final home will be in the new foundation park.
This is open to all. You do not need to be a photo pro. Most cell phones take a high enough resolution photo to be printed. Probably the largest photo in each collage will be 11 x 14 inches. This is your interpretation of life in Watertown.
Dates and Rules:
Dates - Thursday June 2 through Sunday June 5. Deadline for submission is June 8. Images to be e-mailed to rwamsher@outlook.com unless other arrangements are made in advance.
Restrictions - Your photo must be from the above dates. Can be color or B&W. Must be digital JPEG. Camera should be set to the highest resolution JPEG file. Please limit to 3 photos. Label your photos with your name and order of preference. Example- John_ Smith _1, John_Smith_2, etc.
We want to have your interpretation of life in Watertown. Does not have to be all positive views. Inappropriate photos will be discarded. Photos will be selected by a 3-person panel. Multiple photos of a single event or place will be selected by composition and technical ability.
All photos become the property of Northern Prairie Arts. Any use of the photos beyond this project will be by NPA to promote the arts in Watertown.
I will be holding some informational meetings in May. Please e-mail me to get on the contact list for these. I am also willing to speak about this project to youth groups and civic organizations.
