Joy Halling is a retired business and art teacher living in Watertown, SD. She is currently enjoying her retirement and having time to explore her favorite medium, watercolor painting. Most of her works are from her own photography or done in plein air. Her favorite subject is landscapes depicting places she’s been. “If I can capture the atmosphere and feeling of a particular place, I have succeeded.”
Joy has received various awards, including People’s Choice and Artist’s Choice awards for plein air paintings. Her works can be found at her studio and local shops in Watertown. More of her works can be viewed at Joy Halling Watercolors on Face Book.
